Script: Are you someone who is working a full-time job but also looking to one day earn an MBA? But, the challenge is to find the time to effectively study for the GMAT while working a full-time job. If this is your first time seeing my face, hi, my name is Cameron Galbraith and I work in finance here in New York City. I graduated from the University of Florida last April and am currently studying for the GMAT. But don't worry, in today’s video, I will share 4 tips to help you successfully balance your work and GMAT study time to ensure that you get the score you’re looking for. So let’s get into it. The first and foremost step to successfully studying for the GMAT while working full-time is to create a schedule. It's important to create a schedule that works for you and your daily routine. This schedule should include all of your work commitments and the time you plan to dedicate to studying each day. Make sure to set realistic goals for yourself and stick to the schedule as much as possible. Creating a schedule will help you manage your time more efficiently and ensure that you don't miss out on your study goals. And your schedule and daily commitment to the GMAT will depend on your test date. Obviously if your test date is 3 months away, your daily work dedicated to GMAT studying is going to look a bit different than if the test were a month away. But I can’t tell you enough just how important it is to incorporate structure into your daily routine. So set that test date and plan your weeks out accordingly. As a full-time employee, your lunch break is a valuable time that can be used to study for the GMAT. You can use this time to read a few pages of a study book, practice a few sample questions or even watch a video tutorial. This will help you make the most out of your time and stay on track with your study goals. A lot of the time the lunch break won’t be enough to get all you want done, but it’s a great feeling to get the ball rolling for your GMAT work for the day, and it also breaks your studying into 2 daily sessions which can be good for your motivation and attention span. There are plenty of online resources available that can help you study for the GMAT while working full-time, like the video you’re watching now! Make sure to take advantage of these resources to help you stay on track and achieve your goals. Online resources can be accessed anytime and anywhere, which makes it easier for you to study and learn at your own pace. Gone are the days of needing to go to the library, or even lugging a physical study book around. You can study for the GMAT anytime, anywhere, so take advantage of that flexibility. Studying for the GMAT while working full-time can be challenging, but it's important to stay motivated. Set small goals for yourself and celebrate your successes along the way. Remember that every step you take towards your goal is a step in the right direction. Also, try to surround yourself with people who support and encourage you to achieve your goals. Or even other people who are also going through the process of studying for the GMAT! You can join a study group or connect with other people online who are going through this process, like me! At the end of the day, it all comes down to how hard you’re willing to work for the score you want. There’s always enough time in the day, and if there isn’t you need to realign your priorities. It may mean you might get less sleep for the few months leading up to your test day, but I’d rather be a bit sleepy and drink an extra coffee each day, than wonder what could’ve been if I just worked a little bit harder.
