Before we jump into the list, I want to clarify that these rankings are based on total hires into investment banking and front office roles, which naturally tends to favor larger schools that have more students in their business programs. This explains why some schools, like Harvard, might appear lower on the list. Remember, all the schools mentioned are target schools, and the differences within the top 10 are relatively minimal.

First up, we have the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Wharton is often regarded as the best finance school in the world, and for good reason. It offers a rigorous curriculum, renowned faculty, and unparalleled networking opportunities. Plus, Wharton’s alumni network is incredibly strong, which can be a huge advantage when you're looking for internships and jobs.
Moving on to the heart of the financial world, New York City. NYU’s Stern School of Business offers a finance program that’s deeply integrated with Wall Street. Stern provides students with incredible access to internships and job opportunities at top financial firms. If you want to be in the center of the action, NYU Stern is a fantastic choice.

Next up, we have the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. Ross is renowned for its comprehensive finance curriculum and strong emphasis on real-world applications. The school provides numerous opportunities for hands-on learning through its investment funds and finance clubs. It may have a stronger connection to chicago than NYC, but there are still countless alums who have gone on to make it big, which is why it is a target school for some of the largest banks on wall street.
Then, we have the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. Also known as the school my little brother attended. McCombs offers a top-tier finance program with a strong focus on financial analysis and investment management. Located in Austin, a growing tech and financial hub, it provides excellent internship and job opportunities.

Then we have the SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University. Cornell’s finance program is highly esteemed for its rigorous curriculum and strong focus on experiential learning. The program offers students a comprehensive understanding of financial principles and practices, preparing them for a wide range of careers in finance.
Then we have the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. Haas is known for its innovative approach to business education and strong focus on leadership and entrepreneurship. Located in the tech hub of Silicon Valley, it’s an excellent place for those interested in finance roles within tech companies or startups.

Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business is another top choice. Known for its strong emphasis on global finance and public policy, McDonough provides students with a unique perspective on the financial industry. The school’s location in Washington, D.C., offers unmatched opportunities for networking and internships in the nation’s capital.
Harvard needs no introduction. While Harvard Business School is renowned for its MBA program, its undergraduate economics department is also exceptional. The program offers a robust finance track that prepares students for top careers in the financial sector.

For another school in the hub of finance, we have Columbia University. Located in New York City, Columbia offers a finance program that leverages its prime location to provide students with unparalleled access to the financial industry.
